The Polar Conservation Organisation and Stanley Drive Forward the 1+2 Water Bottle Exchange to support the environment through Nondisposable Water Bottle Use

July 2010 - PRESS RELEASE

The Polar Conservation Organisation (PCO) and Stanley continue their partnership that started last year to increase the impact everyone can make towards a more sustainable future by the use of nondisposable water bottles.

During OutDoor 2010 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in exchange for one disposable water bottle and at least a €2 donation to PCO, participants of the 1+2 Exchange will receive a reusable stainless steel water bottle from Stanley. In order to underline their choice of making a difference in environmental protection participants will also sign a pledge located at the Stanley booth.  “Each one of the 500 Stanley stainless steel water bottle distributed helps prevent further burden to landfill sites by throwaway bottles that would otherwise pollute the environment.” says Rebeccca Zistel, Associate European Marketing Manager.

PCO and Stanley first cooperation was during the Outdoor Trade Show 2009 at Stoneleigh in the UK. The event served to create awareness and raised almost £500 for the PCO cause. “PCO’s partnership with Stanley and participation in Friedrichshafen offers an ideal exchange platform to raise awareness about issues surrounding the Polar Regions. Money raised for PCO will be directly allocated to PCO’s communication, outreach and education projects with the objective of a sustainable future for the Polar Regions which have a huge impact on the rest of the planet.” explains Kris Molle from PCO who will also represent the foundation at the Stanley booth at OutDoor 2010 in Friedrichshafen. The show will take place in Friedrichshafen, Germany from July 15th to 18th, 2010, Stanley will be located in Hall B3 Stand 403.

The PCO would welcome approaches from other like-minded organisations interested to form a custom CSR partnership.
