FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Stanley® 1+1 Exchange – The Choice Of Making A

Difference Gets Even Greener!

One disposable bottle and £1 in exchange for environmental protection - OTS from September 28th to September 30th 2009, Stand 80.

th to September 30th 2009, Stand 80.

Stanley®, the American icon in food and beverage gear for an active lifestyle, and Polar Conservation Organisation partner up to increase the impact everyone can make towards a greener future by use of nondisposable water bottles.

Made for the mobile lifestyle in accordance with environmental protection, Stanley’s new product line nineteen13 ranges from stainless steel water bottles to recycled coffee mugs. All nineteen13 products are BPA-free through use of either stainless steel, Eastman Tritan™

copolyester or eCycle®. The latter marks Stanley’s proprietary mix of 25% post consumer and 75% pre-consumer recycled content and won the prestigious iF Material Award 2009.

Stanley now partners up with Polar Conservation Organisation who is committed to the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of relevant international framework agreements for a sustainable future of both Polar Regions. One of the major threats to the Polar Regions is Global Warming, caused by greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.

Based on a study by Sustainability Engineer Pablo Päster, the damage done to the environment by manufacturing a reusable cup is reduced after only 24 uses. One cup is estimated to have 3000 uses in its lifetime, so imagine the reduction of landfills when this many number of disposable beverage containers are never used.

Along these lines, Stanley and Polar Conservation Organisation will hold a unique 1+1 Exchange during The Outdoor Show which will take place from September 28 to 30, 2009 at Stoneleigh. In exchange for one disposable bottle and at least £1 donation to Polar Conservation Organisation, Stanley will give away 500 new nineteen13 stainless steel water bottles. Participants of the exchange will also sign a pledge located at the Stanley booth to underline their choice of making a difference in environmental protection.
