Other Facts and Features
This ship was originally known as the Lyngen and owned by the Norwegian company Hurtigruten. The ship then underwent a complete overhaul, completed in 2008, and was given the current moniker. Today, the National Geographic Explorer is a fully stocked expedition vessel complete with small watercraft, diving gear, underwater cameras, remote-operated vehicles, hydrophones, and a video microscope.
