Where is the Magnetic South Pole?

The Magnetic South Pole is constantly moving in relation to the Geographic South Pole. It is presently near the French Station D'Urville.

What is the time zone in Antarctica?

Since Antarctica surrounds the Geographic South Pole, there is no single time zone in Antarctica. The Antarctic Stations on the continent chose a time zone that is most suitable for their location.

What and where is Lake Vostok?

Lake Vostok is a huge liquid lake under the Ice. Its existence was first suggested by the Russian, Andrei Kapitsa in the late 1950's, while measuring ice thickness enroute to and from the station. The lake itself was, however, officially confirmed to exist in 1974, by a British team using airborne radar. The Lake was inaccessable, but now the Russians have build a station there with the same name.

What is the highest mountain in Antarctica?

The highest peak is Vinson Massif at 4897m.

Are there volcanoes in Antarctica?

Yes, Antarctica does have Volcano's. None are active at this time.
