Antarctic Bases

Information on all the Antarctic Bases, Stations, Field Camps and Refuges. Some of them are occupied year round and some only during the summer periods. Some might only be used for a short period only. Included are also those that are situated on the Islands surrounding the continent itself. There are over 100 Bases, Stations, Field Camps and Refuges in Antarctica belonging to a great variety of nations. Most bases are owned, operated and staffed by a single country, however, there are some stations that are shared between 2 or more countries. Closed down Bases, Stations, Field Camps and Refuges are also included in this list.
